Katmandu

From Bodgaya (India) to Katmandu (Nepal), we had a really hard jorney, for 29 hours, shared between four different local buses. On the last one, we were absolutely dead and the idea of traveling in a very small local bus again was terrifying us...

Dennis had this good idea... traveling on the top of the bus, with luggage and local people...

At the beginning, it was fun, after, already on the mountain area, scary for me... I felt anytime time we were going to have an accident or fall down from the bus... So i just laid down, like I was on my bed! And it was nice! Sun, wind and wonderful mountain scenes!

This picture was taken in Katmandu, one of the most contaminated cities I visited. I got really sick... The doctor recomended me this...

In the day next, this boy took us for sightseeing in Katmandu

In the airport

From Katmandu, the next stop would be on the mountains. On the airport, to fly to Luckla, we waited 4 hours for departure... The flight, as always happens there, was late...

We used the time for some photography classes. Dennis learned how to use movement effects with the camera... These pictures are some tests...

Luckla, just arrived to the village where everything begins...

The Trekking

The trekking was a great experience. We spent 23 days on the mountain, and the hightest point we were, was something near 5650 m.

We made two trekking routes: the Gokyo area and after, Everest Base Camp. Between these two areas, we made a pass that forced us to walk for 9 hours in the same day, the Chola Pass (5500 and something meters on top).

For two weeks, on the Gokyo trekking, we walked with Neuv and Karine, two Canadian girls.

This is our third day trekking, in Benkar.
Jorge, Martin, Dennis, Neuv, Karine, Robert and Pasan

Near Benkar, in a Bhudist Monastery

The monks invited us to spend the day with them, and watch their worship
